V-Global Offers Free Roaming for International Voice and Video Calls

International travelers can now make and receive calls and avoid roaming charges anywhere in the world where they have an Internet connection over wifi and a second line on the V-Global network.Stamford, CT June 10, 2012

V-Global has joined the international consortium of carriers connecting free VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) calls to iNum numbers and providing iNum numbers to its clients free of charge. “iNum” stands for an international phone number assigned to the universal country code +883 by the ITU. Not all carriers connect calls to iNum numbers, requiring their callers to dial an access number first, previously dialing their destination iNum.

The Internet including voip phone sets

V-Global clients can direct second line or iNum voip calls to their devices with broadband or wifi connections to the Internet including voip phone sets, smart phones, computers, laptops and tablets. Voip phones already have software built into them that connect phone calls over the Internet during smartphones, tablets, computers and laptops use apps to provide voip calling capability. V-Global as well offers its clients free apps for iPhones, iPads, computers and laptops with apps for Android and Microsoft smart phones and tablets available for a small one-time charge. Legacy phones as well can be connected to the Internet through a gateway or ATA to take advantage of free iNum calls nevertheless without video screens, they will be limited to voice only calling.

The CEO of V-Global, Robert B. Segal, commented: “Outrageous roaming charges for international travelers placing and receiving calls in foreign countries can now become a thing of the past. Using iNum numbers as a second line to mobile phones, tablets and laptops creates a huge cost break through. As long as our clients are connected to the Internet through wifi or broadband they will receive their calls anywhere in the world they happen to be. When travelers place any calls using wifi and broadband from these international locations, they will by-pass local cell carriers with V-Global’s USA dial tone and low rates. Clearly, any calls to iNum numbers are carried for free on the V-Global voip network.”
