Web Host Intermedia Hits 400K Premium Exchange Mailbox Milestone
The 400,000th Exchange mailbox that Intermedia is managing belongs to Earth Networks, which provides the largest global weather, lightning and climate observation networks and owns the WeatherBug brand.
The milestone is prominently on display on Intermedia's frontpage, including with a pull quote from Earth Networks VP and CIO Lex Crosset.
The company recently transitioned from an on-premises server to the cloud and now offers its near 200 employees a unified communications platform from Intermedia.
The platform includes Intermedia's hosted Exchange 2010 for email, hosted PBX (Private -Automatic- Branch Exchange) and Conference Bridges for voice, SharePoint for document management, hosted BlackBerry and ActiveSync for mobility, as then as Fax via Email, resource mailboxes and UserPilot.
"As a company that serves a multitude of entities including business enterprises, consumers and government agencies, we need to communicate weather and climate information quickly and efficiently across our large user base," said Lex Crosett, vice president and chief information officer at Earth Networks. "By unifying and migrating our business communications to the cloud with Intermedia, we can better maintain the flexibility necessary to focus on our core information service business and our clients."
These bundles provide a cost-effective way to combine Microsoft tools just as Exchange 2010 email, Lync Secure Instant Messaging, and SharePoint document management with "only from Intermedia" resources for premium support, complete mobile freedom, security, back-up, and PBX-VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol).
