West Corp. acquires Texas firm
West, the Omaha-based company that offers research-based voice and data services, said Tuesday it has entered into an agreement to buy HyperCube, which was founded in 2005. The company serves eight of the top 10 wireless phone companies in the United States with neutral network interconnection services, allowing cellular, wireline and voice over Internet protocol, or VoIP, traffic to pass from network to network.
"Our management team and employees are excited about the many opportunities resulting from this combination," he said. "HyperCube's network and research coupled with West's vast offerings will greatly enhance our ability to offer our clients cost-effective solutions to meet their growing demand for mobility and IP-based telephony."
