Westcon Inks Deal with snom for IP Phone Distribution
Microsoft Lync is popular business application where IP Phone systems integrate with Microsoft Office and documents can be shared during teleconferencing. The VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) specialists, snom has recently signed a deal with Westcon Group to distribute its IP and Lync endpoint services to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
Since Westcon Group is now collaborating with Microsoft on their Lync Hardware Catalogue, senior executives see this as a move to promote and facilitate Lync business in the aforementioned regions.
Westcon Group states that snom technolgy’s IP Phone system is much more than just voice, allowing productivity features that are integral to Microsft Lync 2010. To tell the truth, snom innovation’s IP phones are officially compliant with Microsoft Lync, an endorsement that most of the competition cannot claim about their technologies.
snom recently showcased its IP phones, the snom 300 UC edition, snom 370 UC edition at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference. snom’s IP phones have been selected as qualified endpoints for the new hosted Lync solution by Microsoft, The Lync Server 2010 Multitenant Hosting Pack.
The Lync Server 2010 Multitenant Hosting Pack includes integration with Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Outlook, and other communication technologies, and enables clients to manage geographically dispersed offices and mobile users after a fashion that reduces travel expenses, during maintaining highly collaborative team environments.

The company has grown its global sales presence by expanding into Australia and New Zealand by partnering up with Digital Techniques Limited. Digital Techniques will offer snom’s IP phones and systems, including conference VoIP phones, desktop phones, and IP PBX (Private -Automatic- Branch Exchange) systems.
