Yammer accepts $1.2 billion Microsoft acquisition
Assuming this is true, Microsoft could compliment its popular desktop Office software with social networking functionality, potentially adding more value for corporate users.
Yammer may be used in Windows Phone 8 Apollo, Windows 8 and the tablet-specific version of the latter, Windows 8 RT for the same reasons.
This isn't the first major acquisition for Microsoft in recent times. The research giant said it was buying Skype for $8.5 billion dollars back in May 2011. So far, a Skype app has been released on Windows Phone for the popular voice over IP service and base-level integration has been hinted at in recently leaked images purporting to be of Windows Phone 8 Apollo.
