Audio Precision Announced It Will Release APx500 with PESQ Capabilities
Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality is a group of standards comprising a test of methodology for automatically assessing speech quality of a user of a telephony system. PESQ has become a worldwide-applied platform used to test voice quality by phone manufactures, network equipment vendors, and telecom operators. Audio Precision has added the ability for its users to take advantage of the PESQ services through its new APx500 Series audio analyzer.
The APx500 software
By adding PESQ to the APx500 software, users will now have a complete set of audio testing capabilities to test audio for both VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and mobile services. "Mobile devices today can easily have ten or more audio I/O choices and they all need to be tested within ever-faster product life cycles," said Tom Williams, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Audio Precision. "The ability to apply a complete suite of audio and perceptual evaluation measurements to every single path using a single analyzer with a single test project that results in a single report is key to ensuring good design quality in the shortest time possible."
