Primus Enables Telecom Platform Deployment at Australian Power & Gas

Primus Telecom, a division of the Primus Telecommunications Group Incorporated, which provides telecom platform deployment and communications solutions, has just been selected by Australian Power & Gas to meet the growing telecommunications needs of clients.

As part of the deal, Primus Telecom has been selected to power a voice and data network solution that will help the energy retailer meet its 'Vision 2015' objective of achieving 700,000 net clients.

The telecom platform deployment solutions offered

The telecom platform deployment solutions offered by Primus Telecom include a national voice network, a Primus Inbound Intelligent Network for all 1300 and 1800 services, and a Primus Private IP Network that will be used to connect Australian Power & Gas’ two offices and two data centers in Melbourne and Sydney.

The inbound services offered through Primus Inbound Intelligent Network will enable the energy retailer to manage inbound calls, monitor the performance of contact centers in real-time, and manage the calls according to the traffic and customer requirements.

Primus' PIPN telecom platform deployment solution is designed to improve the speed and efficiency of its WAN environment. With this, Australian Power & Gas will get a fully integrated and managed private IP network based on a Multi Protocol Label Switching network core.

Milestone of 300,000 net clients

"We are now looking to implement and utilize innovation that will help us to improve efficiencies and keep our staff numbers relatively low as we continue our rapid growth over coming years."

The energy provider selected Primus' voice and data network solution afterwards it found that the solution has the potential to reduce its overall telecommunications costs by 30 percent, as then as improve the efficiency and speed of its WAN as it consolidates its data center operations.
